Jace covers:  Washington, D.C.,  Virginia: Arlington, McLean, Fairfax, Chantilly & Ashburn. He comes from a family of musicians, martial artists, and entrepreneurs. He's a hobby singer/songwriter with a passion for all types of music. He started playing guitar and piano when he was 9 years old, while learning discipline and creativity in the dojo. Born in the Philippines, he moved to New York City in 2001 and holds a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from The City College of New York. While in NYC, he established his own architecture and engineering consulting firm, formed a rock band, and played weekend gigs in Queens, NY. In 2015, he moved to Washington DC, to be closer to his family, continue his architecture practice, and pursue his passion for teaching. He began teaching mixed-martial arts (Kali, Aikido, Aikijutsu, and Kenjutsu) with his younger brother Josh, to students ages 8-60+. At the same time, he briefly taught private and small group acoustic/electric guitar lessons, as part of DC and Montgomery County Public Schools after school programs. With over 15 years of experience in architecture and the construction industry, in 2020, he decided to leave his firm, co-founded a martial arts, sports, and events startup company, and focused on teaching. Capitalizing on his background and experience, he joined Music Lessons In Your House to share his passion for music, and impacting people through positive reinforcement. Jace's style of teaching involves resourcefulness, creative thinking, practical application, and team collaboration, while having fun in the process. Practice... practice... practice... consistency is key. Let's learn together! What's your favorite song?
